Cruz's Café

At Cruz's Café, you'll find locally made coffee and tasty breakfast treats that you will love. If you wake up feeling super hungry, you'll want to try one of Cruz's Café's specialties, like the Steak and Eggs, the Big Country (which comes with two eggs, biscuits and gravy, and your choice of meat), or the Breakfast Quesadilla. Also, if you're a vegan or a vegetarian, there are plant-based options for you to enjoy at Cruz's Café, too. We recommend you try their plant-based pancakes.

Scott's Family Restaurant

Scott's Family Restaurant is the perfect spot for people looking to have breakfast before the sun comes up, as the restaurant opens at 6 AM each day. There are a lot of options for breakfast, so whatever you're craving will probably be on the menu. We are fans of the omelets at Scott's Family Restaurant, but the breakfast favorites on the menu are also good. Some of the breakfast favorites include the Stuffed and Smothered Hash Browns, the New York Strip Steak, the Eggs Benedict, and the Biscuits and Gravy Combo.

Tommy's Restaurant

Lovers of all-things American food will enjoy the selection at Tommy's Restaurant. If you're in the mood for something hearty, try out their Corned Beef Hash—it's served with two eggs (done however you'd like them), hash browns, and toast. The Chicken Fried Steak is another classic on the menu at Tommy's Restaurant. You can get this dish with two eggs, hash browns, and toast or two small cakes. If you visit Tommy's Restaurant, you need to try the Tommy, which is simply hash browns and eggs cooked on the grill, topped with cheese, three meats, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes.

Lucky's on 16th

You're lucky if you get to visit Lucky's on 16th in Cedar Rapids. There is a large selection of breakfast appetizers on the menu, like the Pancake Bites, the Cinnamon Sugar Bites, and the Avocado Toast. After you've enjoyed these appetizers, there are so many delectable things to try on the main menu, like the Tex-Mex Skillet, the Ham and Cheese Omelet, or the Biscuits and Gravy Plate. The portion sizes at Lucky's on 16th are variable, so if you're not feeling very hungry, ask the server to bring you a half-sized portion of whatever you're craving. You can even order two or more half-sized portions if you want to try out different things on the menu!

16th Avenue Grill

Located not far from Lucky's on 16th, the 16th Avenue Grill is another spot that Cedar Rapids residents love to visit. Although you can visit this spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, we recommend you go at breakfast time (because their giant cinnamon rolls are incredible). Now, while we do love their giant cinnamon rolls, there's more to love about the 16th Avenue Grill. They offer visitors gluten-free options, and there are great dishes on the breakfast menu, like the Original Sweet Cream Pancakes, the Waffles, or the Steak and Eggs.

Mikhael's

Mikhael's has been serving up tasty food to the Cedar Rapids community since the 1980s. It's always fun to visit Mikhael’s because you can get fries and onion rings at breakfast, which are the perfect side dishes to complete your meal. The restaurant offers traditional breakfast options with a twist, like their special with one egg, fries, toast, and jelly. There are also Greek Style Eggs, Country Fried Steak and Eggs, a Breakfast Burrito, and more on the menu.
